I always felt like I was capable of more as an athlete...

Going into my senior year of high school I spent all summer increasing my vertical jump for volleyball. I upgraded it by 8 inches that summer and felt like I could fly. I got a taste of that feeling that I had control over my athletic limits and was even thinking I might try to walk onto a college volleyball team

Then...something happened that completely changed the course of my athletic dreams...

I was going up to block a competitor, he landed on my side of the line after hitting the ball and BOOM! Ankle blown out. Grade 3 lateral and high ankle sprain. Before I knew it, I had a baseball size lump on my ankle (typical of a severe high ankle sprain), limped over to the school trainer and said, "I don't think it's supposed to look like that."

Long story short, I came back too soon without rehabbing it and didn't realize that injury would send me on a path of chronic severe back pain episodes and frustrating cycles of recurring injury for the next 10 years despite doing  all the  "right things."

Starting at age 17, the injuries and pains I incurred over that time period included, but aren't limited to:

  • Severe back spasms with intermittently numb big toe
  • Femoracetabular impingement with labral tears on both hips
  • MCL right knee and meniscus tears both knees with incomplete rehab leading to giving up running for 3 whole years
  • IT Band syndrome, runner's knee and jumper's knee in both knees
  • Plantar fasciitis, posterior tibial tendonitis and achilles tendonitis on both sides
  • Shoulder impingement on both sides
  • Shoulder Labral tear with rotator cuff involvement on the left side
  • Neck pain with tingling into my arm
  • Wrist pain
  • and more...

I was a MESS!

The good news? I climbed out of all of it with the comprehensive approach I'm about to lay out for you without needing any medical interventions (because, like many of you the traditional medical, physical therapy and fitness industries failed me). 

At age 24, I thought, "This can't be it for me."
I decided I wanted a different outcome

Don't miss that key step. In order to experience transformation, you have to first decide to take full ownership over your body and you'll do whatever it takes to change your path and end result.

So I started asking key questions and maybe you're asking some of the same right now:

  • What are the root causes of my pain? This sent me down natural healing paths, optimal movement, nutrition and hydration, sleep, grounding, and mindset among other things that set our bodies up for healing...
  • Is there something I can do about my pain? The answer was always YES. I realized I could change my pain intensity in as little as 10-15 minutes daily.
  • Is there a right way to move? Turns out there is (with some buffer for "artistic" or specialist expression and anatomical variances). That exposed me to motor control theory, child development and several broad movement systems. I learned moving the right way (or at least structuring my training to trend that way) also reduced or eliminated my pain.
  • Do I just need to get really strong and flexible? The answer is yes, BUT there is a way that may harm you in the long run, which I did for 10 years, and there is a way that leads toward longevity and injury prevention alongside performance.
  • How long will it take to "fix" my body? This is another thing the industry doesn't seem to understand and doesn't tell the patient. Insurance pays for like 4-12 weeks depending on the issue, but if you've been in chronic pain, it can take years to feel right again simply because you'll have good days and bad days along with being subject to physiological timeframes for healing.

So after all that research and trial and error, I explored every movement system under the sun to fix my body.

It took me 3 years (with an understanding of lifelong refinement) and I explored concepts related to heavy lifting, structural balance training (similar to Charles Poliquin's famous work), and experimented with systems like Ido Portal Method (which is a profound practice that got me most of my results), FRC, FMS, end-range strength training, all the popular "mobility" training systems and on and on...

I believe God put me through all of that so that you don't have to.

It took me almost 10 years of frustration to find a good path, 3 years to feel confident in that path and another 10 years of refinement to arrive at this place...

I now get these same results in people in a fraction of the time because I walked the fire and have massive amounts of context behind how I operate.

And I do it all by following our original design for human movement, whole body connection and effortless athleticism...the childhood neurodevelopmental sequence.

This is the exact process we ALL originally go through to transform from babies with minimal control over anything to miniature, fully mobile without warm-up, always ready, explosive and natural athletes.

Let's look at the legend of the greatest athlete of all time, Jim Thorpe

Jim Thorpe could be thought of by many as the greatest olympian and overall athlete of all time. Look him up, his story is pretty cool!

Well, he did a publicity stunt where he mimicked the activity of a toddler on adult scale and could barely last an hour.

Meanwhile, toddlers are developmental powerhouses who have been shown in research to have the endurance levels of an elite endurance athlete while demonstrating pound for pound beastly strength and head-to-toe movement freedom that can go all day.

Combined with tried and true practices from cultures who stave off chronic pain successfully, you can re-develop into a natural athletic powerhouse with the movement freedom and fluidity of a child PLUS the prowess of a complete athlete when you retrace your steps through the childhood neurodevelopmental sequence on adult scale.

The neurodevelopmental sequence follows a logical and progressive walk through 18 distinct levels of movement upgrades called milestones.
